If you want to achieve your goals and reach the success you dream of, then start writing down your goals, and mapping out what you want.

I was flicking through an old notebook from 2006. At the time I was working as a TV reporter in Bangkok, and flying across Asia covering big stories. I loved thrill of chasing big stories, and was passionate about making a difference in the world, and my job seemed very glamorous, but I was desperately lonely, and I was single and my biological clock was ticking… I wrote down in my diary my big goals…

  • Own a house by Hampstead Heath
  • Be married to a lovely man
  • Have a baby, or be thinking about having a baby
  • Go running everyday with my dog…

Fast forward 11 years, and I live in a house by Hampstead Heath in London, and I’m married, and I have a toddler son. I don’t have a dog (my husband’s allergic to them), but hey ho, you can’t have everything 😉

Do you see how powerful it is to write down your goals? Write down what you want and start manifesting it?

We have so many plans at the start of a year, and we write our resolutions, and they sit in a drawer in our notebook, and never to be seen again….

Okay, so the year’s flown… how can you make the next 3 months and six months count? How can you make this year count?

Start seeing your year in 90 day segments, and write down what you want to achieve for the next 90 days.

So today, pull out that notebook and see where you are. Appraise the last few months… What did you achieve, what are you proud of?

What could you have done more of?

What are you proud of?

Spend some time thinking about your next 90 days.

What are you goals for the next 30 days for Month 1:

For example my goals for the next 30 days are:

  • Write 30,000 words of a book (1,000 words per day)
  • Complete my TED Talk application
  • Consistently get 5 figure months
  • Go on HOLIDAY!!! And relax and recharge.
  • Get my little one comfortable in the water & swimming happily
  • Spend more time with my husband and go on “date night” twice a week
  • Do something for myself every week… massage, yoga or go to the theatre

What are you goals for the next 60 days for Month 2?

What are your goals for Month 3?

Now let’s break this down into weeks: what will you achieve in week 1? Week 2?

Breaking down your days into small achievable targets makes things possible. Sometimes our big dreams seem lofty ideas that are unobtainable… When you write a big dream down, it can be overwhelming… Saying “I want to make £3 million next year” seems scary and impossible.

Saying that I want to make £250,000 in January seems much more achievable.

Start writing down your dreams and manifesting them.

When you write down your ambitions and goals, the universe provides…
