How I Juggle EVERYTHING as a Single Mum

Why There’s NO Such Thing as Work-Life Balance and How I Juggle EVERYTHING as a Single Mum

I’m not perfect, it is a juggle but this is how I juggle everything as a single mum.

Having a series of courses and a membership helps because I’m not trading time for money

Instead, I’m focused on the marketing of my business each morning

During vacation time, I will do some work in the morning and then don’t work during the day and don’t have calls.

I go to bed EARLY… I realised I was spending an hour and a half a night faffing about in the evening not really doing anything

So I flipped my day. I go to bed at 8.30pm

Wake early…

And then have an hour or two for me when I’m at my best.

I’ll meditate, and do some work, I might chat to my best friend in Australia or my brother in Asia

When my son wakes, I’m focused on his needs.

During term time that means helping him stay calm because he is autistic and gets anxious about school.

I help him dress, sort his breakfast and do reading and spellings

And then we walk to school…

I go for a run on the way home…

And then I’m focused on my work for 4 hours until it’s school pick up.

Watch my latest YouTube video for a little inspiration on how to juggle everything as a single mum.

I crack on, I’m focused. I get more done because the clock is ticking and I know I only have 4 hours.

It creates a deadline for me, and as a former journalist, I work better to a deadline. It’s a non-negotiable, I have to make a decision and get it done ✅

It also means I only do what’s necessary and urgent. Sometimes things don’t get done, and that’s ok 💕

And then about 2.30pm it’s time to collect my son and focus on him…

I don’t try and work and juggle calls and time with him.

He needs 100% of my attention, and it is counterproductive if I try to work at the same time.

NOTE: Once a week, I’ll have a call with my membership in the evening when he’s in bed and asleep

Once we’ve had dinner, he’ll do homework, while I clear up

And then bath time

And then bed time for us both…
